Build Infra Award 2026 – Sustainable Innovation in Road Construction

Delighted to receive the Build Infra Award 2026 for Sustainable Material Innovation in the Road Sector, recognizing the impact of Steel Slag Road Technology in advancing green and durable infrastructure.

I am proud to share that CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI) has been honoured with the Build Infra Award 2026 for Sustainable Material Innovation of the Year in the road sector. This recognition highlights the success of Steel Slag Road Technology as a sustainable solution for modern infrastructure. It was a privilege to receive this award alongside the CRRI team from Hon. Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari ji, at a prestigious event held in New Delhi. This achievement reflects our continued commitment to developing environmentally responsible and innovative road construction practices.

This moment is especially meaningful as it aligns with the vision of promoting green and sustainable roads through the effective utilization of industrial waste like steel slag. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to NITI Aayog, the Ministry of Steel, and leading industry partners including AMNS India, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Jindal Steel Ltd., Arjas Steel, and RINL for their valuable collaboration and support. Their contribution has been instrumental in transforming waste into wealth and driving innovation in infrastructure development. I also extend my thanks to the respected jury members for recognizing this impactful initiative, which continues to inspire us towards building a more sustainable and future-ready nation.
